Baron Davis Returns, Dishes 10 Assists

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Baron Davis made his anticipated return last night in an upset win over the San Antonio Spurs. Davis played 24 minutes and finished with 7 points and 10 assists.

The Breakdown
Davis and rookie Eric Bledsoe both played 24 minutes and had about the same fantasy value. Given that Davis has already logged so many minutes in his first game in over three weeks, chances are head coach Vinny Del Negro will put Davis back in the starting line up and give him the bigger share of the playing time. Davis has the potential to put up top 50 fantasy production when he's healthy, so fantasy owners should grab him in the 25% of leagues where he's available.

As for Bledsoe owners in standard leagues, we recommend you hold onto the rookie for a few games and watch how the minutes are split. You'll also want to make sure Davis is fully healthy since he tried to come back from the same injury in early November only to go back to the sidelines. If Bledsoe loses his starting spot and plays under 20 minutes a night, then you'll have to start looking for a better option.
