Joakim Noah to Undergo Surgery, Will Miss 8-10 Weeks

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah will undergo surgery on Thursday to repair ligament damage in his right thumb. The recovery time is about 8-10 weeks, putting his return date around late February.

The Breakdown
Devastating news for Noah owners as he was having himself a nice year. In standard leagues, we recommend picking up Taj Gibson. While he may not get the starting nod, he should soak up the bulk of Noah's minutes and be out there in the fourth quarter closing out games. In deeper leagues, Omer Asik is worth a speculative addition. We're not sure if you'll get much production out of him, but he's the only true center seeing regular playing time off the bench so he may have some value while Noah's recovering.
