Hot Streaks: February 12

Five players that have been playing well over the last couple of weeks. Stats listed below are from the last 15 days.

  1. Ramon Sessions (16 points, 9.1 assists, 1.2 steals, 51.6% FG%, 86.2% FT%): Sessions had been on a scoring tear over the last month, but his value has really picked up over the last two weeks as his assist numbers jumped to nearly 10 a game. While Sessions has been hot, his value is very likely to drop with Mo Williams returning last night. He saw his minutes drop to 26 with Williams in the line up and could return to a reserve role in the near future.
  2. Nicolas Batum (13.2 points, 2 three-pointers, 5 rebounds, 94.4% FT%): Batum's value has increased of late because Portland's injuries have forced them to use a short rotation. He's averaged nearly 40 minutes a game over the last two weeks, allowing Nicolas to put up some great lines. With the imminent return of Brandon Roy, though, Batum's value is likely to slip in the coming weeks.
  3. Rudy Fernandez (14.3 points, 2.3 three-pointers, 1.3 steals, 88.9% FT%): Much like his teammate Batum, Fernandez has taken advantage of increased playing time and he's been on fire over the last week. Look for Rudy to also take a hit to his fantasy value when Roy returns to the hardwood.
  4. Mike Dunleavy (12.6 points, 2.6 three-pointers, 59.1% FG%): Dunleavy's a player that's been hanging around the top 75 of our player ratings all season that fantasy owners have largely ignored. His numbers aren't eye-popping, but he's shooting the ball well from the field, hitting threes, and giving fantasy owners a little something across the board. With Dunleavy solidifying his hold on the starting shooting guard spot in Indiana, we feel he is a must own at this point.
  5. DeJuan Blair (14 points, 11 rebounds, 1.6 steals, 1 block, 52.9% FG%): Blair's always been a potent rebounder, but now he's starting to put up some double-digits scoring nights as well. His scoring has increased month-by-month over the season and we expect it to hover around the 10-point range for the foreseeable future. We like him as a speculative addition. As a big man who gets a lot of steals, he's a must own if you need help in that department.
