Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Jonny Flynn is in the midst of a rehab assignment with the D-League's Sioux Falls Skyforce. If all goes well, Flynn could be recalled as early as Wednesday.
The Breakdown
In two D-League games, Flynn has averaged 8 points and 10.5 assists. The important thing is that his surgically repaired hip is holding up and he's getting a chance to get some of the rust off while improving his conditioning. He'll likely play one more game for Sioux Falls before joining his Minnesota teammates.
It's still up in the air whether Flynn will see the nearly 30 minutes a game he saw in 2009-10. He has potential to be a top 100 player with ample minutes, but with Luke Ridnour around Flynn may be stuck in a time share. Flynn is a risky pick up in standard leagues, but may be worth it if you're in need of point guard help. At this time, we only recommend adding him in deep leagues until we see how the playing time is divvied out. He's available in just over 80% of leagues.
