Brandon Roy's Knee Injury Cause for Concern

Portland Trailblazers guard Brandon Roy has been dealing with pain in his knee that has hindered his play of late. He left Saturday night's contest against the Hornets in the middle of the third quarter and did not return.

The Breakdown
This injury will be a problem not only for this season, but possibly for the rest of Roy's career. Because the pain is stemming from bone-on-bone contact in his knee, doctor's have no way of operating to eliminate the pain. This is just something Roy will have to play through.

The Blazers are trying to limit Roy's minutes, which will lower his fantasy value. Brandon's still been able to put up some solid lines the last few games, but it's obvious the discomfort in his knee is affecting his game and could lead to night's where he goes to the bench early. I'd start looking for a deal to move Roy now before he's put on the shelf. There's a good chance he could get shut down at some point in the near future to rest the knee.
