The Golden State Warriors have signed free agent swingman Rodney Carney. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Breakdown
The Warriors are very weak at small forward, so they've decided to add Carney for depth. Carney has generally been a back of the bench player in his career, but he could earn a rotation spot in Oakland. Going into camp, it appears Reggie Williams has the edge in terms of starting but Williams was an undrafted rookie who had to play his way into the NBA through the D-League. He's no lock as a starter and neither is Carney's other competition, Dorrell Wright. All three of them are good players to take a chance on in deep leagues just in case one of them ends up with regular playing time on the fast-paced Warriors squad.
