Free agent center Brad Miller has agreed to a 3-year, $15 million contract with the Houston Rockets.
The Breakdown
Miller is entering a good situation for him in Houston. He'll be Yao Ming's primary back up. With Yao's injury history, Miller is a good player to take a chance on as he could get big minutes if Yao goes down with yet another injury. Miller is past his prime and he's more of a finesse center, but he can still provide decent scoring and rebounding numbers. What I like about him is that he has 3 point range and he'll give you good assist numbers for his position. Additionally, he's a very good free throw shooter. The negative that goes with his long distance shooting is that it really hurts his FG%. He typically has a lower than average FG% for a big man.
Miller is a player to target late in your draft if you need another center. More than likely Yao will go down with an injury at some point and Miller will step in and get the minutes he needs to be a fantasy factor.
