Clippers Add Randy Foye and Ryan Gomes

After striking out in free agency, the Clippers have signed Randy Foye and Ryan Gomes.

The Breakdown

With the Clippers unable to acquire a marquee free agent, they have moved on with Plan B to add depth to their roster. Foye will come as the primary back up to Eric Gordon. He should play a similar role to his role in Washington. With Eric Gordon fully entrenched as the starting SG, I don't expect much from Foye next year. He's only worth drafting in deep leagues.

Gomes, on the other hand, is someone to watch. Although he's not going to give you big numbers, the Clippers do have a hole at SF that Gomes could slide into. He'll have to compete with rookie Al-Farouq Aminu for that starting role, but I would give Gomes the upper hand going into the season as he's an experienced starter in the league. He's a guy you may want to consider late in your draft if he can earn that starting role.

Still, with Aminu being a high pick in the draft, he will get minutes even if he's coming off the bench. Although he's not guaranteed to start, he could play his way into the starting line up at some point during the season, especially if the Clippers struggle again. Aminu is a nice sleeper to consider in a deep league draft and someone you should be quick to scoop up in free agency if he gets around 20 minutes a game and contributes regularly.
