Brandon Bass May Require Surgery For Injured Knee

Orlando Magic big man Brandon Bass, who injured his knee in a recent game against the Knicks, sat out practice today and will miss at least the next few games. If the knee injury does not heal with rest, Bass will be forced to undergo arthroscopic surgery which would sideline him for an extended period.

The Breakdown
The Magic are very thin up front and the loss of Bass is huge. With rookie Daniel Orton also out for an extended period, the only reliable big man they have is Ryan Anderson. Bass' injury will force Anderson into the starting five and he'll undoubtedly play heavy minutes. Fantasy owners in need of another big man may want to grab Anderson now. He's a decent source of three-pointers and rebounds who's available in nearly every league.
