New Jersey Nets center Brook Lopez logged his first double-double this season. His line: 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
The Breakdown
The downside is that it took a triple overtime game for him to finally get that elusive double-double. Lopez has struggled to get into double-digit rebounds all season long. His rebounding average is currently down by 2.6 rebounds compared to last year. The presence of Troy Murphy, Kris Humphries, and Derrick Favors has hurt Lopez's fantasy value more than anyone expected.
On the brightside, Lopez's scoring and shooting percentage are starting to rise and his scoring average is at a career high. Brook's FG% was below 40% a few weeks ago, but is now around 45% and should get close to his 50% career mark by season's end. If you're in a category league and need points, this is great news. But if you're in need of rebounds, you're better off dealing Lopez to fill that void as we just don't foresee significant improvement in that category this year.
