Rookie Eric Bledsoe Plays Well in First Career Start

With Baron Davis and Randy Foye sidelined, Los Angeles Clippers rookie point guard Eric Bledsoe got his first career start. Bledsoe played 40 minutes and finished the night with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

The Breakdown
Bledsoe got a chance to play major minutes due to injuries and had a great all-around performance. Look for Bledsoe to have his ups-and-downs in his rookie year. If he can continue to be a solid contributor over the early part of the season, Bledsoe could very likely see an increase in minutes in the second half of the season since it's looking like it's going to be another rough year for the Clippers.

Also, keep in mind that starting point guard Baron Davis is prone to injury and could miss games at some point in the season (like he did tonight), allowing Bledsoe to step into a bigger role. Bledsoe is worth a speculative pick up in deeper leagues as long as you can afford to hold onto him for some time to see how things develop in Los Angeles over the next couple of months.
