The Indianapolis Star reports that the Indiana Pacers have barred second round pick Lance Stephenson from working out at Conseco Field House. This decision stems from Stephenson's assault charge last month for pushing his girlfriend down a flight of stairs.The Breakdown
The Pacers have been looking to remove any potential troublemakers from their roster since The Brawl occurred in Detroit a few years ago. As a result, Stephenson has become far from a lock from being a part of the Pacers' future. The fact that they have barred him from working out at the team's home arena is a sign that the Pacers may have decided Stephenson is not going to be a part of their long term plans even though he played very well in summer league action. Stephenson has great potential if he can get back in the good graces of the Pacers management and coaching staff. Deep leaguers will want to watch how the Pacers use Stephenson in preseason before taking a chance on him.
