According to the Boston Globe, Rasheed Wallace's agent, Bill Strickland, confirmed that Wallace plans to retire.
The Breakdown
Doc Rivers stated that Wallace planned to retire shortly after the NBA Finals, but this basically confirms it. It's unlikely Wallace has a change of heart, so stay away from him when you draft.
Wallace's retirement opens up a role for Glen "Big Baby" Davis and, potentially, rookie Luke Harangody to fill. Harangody is particularly intriguing because he can stretch the floor like Wallace, but I'm not sure he can get a regular role on such a veteran team. Davis will likely take over Wallace's spot in the rotation behind Kevin Garnett, but Harangody remains a sleeper candidate.
