In need of depth at PG, the Charlotte Bobcats have signed undrafted rookie Sherron Collins out of Kansas. Collins played on the Bobcats' summer league squad, where he averaged 12.5 points, 2.8 assists, and 0.8 steals.
The Breakdown
With the loss of Raymond Felton, the Bobcats are in need of point guard depth. With only D.J. Augustin and Shaun Livingston able to play the point, the Bobcats lack an experienced, proven PG. Collins becomes the third inexperienced PG on the roster, but he adds depth and insurance in case Augustin and/or Livingston struggle. While it's very unlikely Collins sees much playing time, there's always the chance he gets into the rotation if Augustin is ineffective or Livingston suffers yet another injury.
Collins is a guy who has sleeper potential in a very deep league because of the point guard situation in Charlotte. He's worth a pick in the last round if your league drafts close to 300 players. But if the Bobcats add another PG by the time your draft takes place, he's not worth the roster spot.
