Jermaine O'Neal signed a 2 year, $11.5 million deal with the Celtics. With Perkins out, the Celtics pick up a center to fill in while he's sidelined in the early part of next season. Additionally, O'Neal could become the primary 6th man for the Celtics if Rasheed Wallace indeed retires.
The Breakdown
O'Neal's days of fantasy relevance are now officially over. He's been signed to be a role player for the Celtics. I'm not expecting O'Neal to get much playing time once Perkins is fully healed. Even if O'Neal gets the bulk of the minutes off the bench, he's such an injury risk that he is not worth drafting unless you're in a deep league.
