When DeMarcus Cousins made himself eligible for the 2010 NBA Draft, many experts said he was the most talented player available. He is making those experts look very, very smart.
Cousins had another monster game tonight and through 3 games he is averaging 18.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block. His only real problem has been his low FG%, but he has been a high percentage shooter in college and that should certainly carry over to the NBA.
Cousins and Wall have both looked like they are ready to play in the NBA from the opening tip off, which can't be said for any of the other top 10 rookies in the draft. Evan Turner looked awful in Orlando, Derrick Favors looked as raw as the scouts said he is, and Wes Johnson and Ekpe Udoh are already dealing with injuries. To me, Cousins is the most intriguing player in the draft just because dominant centers are so rare. With how great he looks in the summer league, he is going to make a noticeable jump in the Top 150 and I know I'll be taking a chance on Cousins come draft day.
